Technology in the Medical Field has improved significantly in the years with the ability to prove information about patients through computer databases rather than mountains and mountains of paperwork. While this seems like such a wonderful idea and cutting edge technology to help improve the dynamics of hospitals and doctors offices, it does have its advantages and disadvantages listed below.


Advantages to Technology in the Medical Field:

• Faster Response Time to Important Records
• Easier access to Records such as x-rays and charts
• More organized in the way it it categorized
• More time with patients rather than filling out paperwork
• Less clutter because of the less paper

Disadvantages to Technology in the Medical Field:

• Lost information because it was not put in the database in time
• Mix up of patients because information was put under the wrong name
• Not being able to understand some of the abbreviations being used
• Easier access for unauthorized people to be able to see the charts and paperwork
• Slower equipment because of an overload of information on computers
